Vail Resorts Introduces Emma, Your Epic Mountain Assistant, the World’s First Digital Mountain Assistant to Provide Real-Time Information to Skiers and Snowboarders

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today introduced Emma, your Epic Mountain Assistant, the world’s first digital mountain assistant to help guide guests while on their ski and snowboard vacation at nine of the Company’s resorts. Emma is an interactive mountain assistant who uses artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) to answer a wide range of guests’ questions about their ski vacation. Emma will debut for the 2018-19 winter season at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado; Park City in Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood in Tahoe; and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Canada.

(NYSE: MTN) and the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies (RCR) jointly announced today that the RCR’s six ski resorts across Canada—Fernie Alpine Resort, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and Kimberley Alpine Resort in British Columbia, Nakiska in Alberta, and Mont Sainte Anne and Stoneham in Quebec—will join the industry-leading Epic Pass in a long-term alliance beginning with 2018-19 winter season, connecting the best resorts in Canada on one pass for Canadian skiers and snowboarders.

Hakuba Valley, Japan Is Now Epic

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today announced a long-term alliance with one of Japan’s largest and most renowned mountain resort regions —Hakuba Valley, located in the northern part of the Nagano Prefecture at the base of Japan’s Northern Alps and host to the 1998 Olympic Winter Games. Beginning with the 2018-19 season, the Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass and Epic Australia Pass will offer five consecutive complimentary days with no blackout dates at the nine ski resorts that comprise Hakuba Valley. It brings the Epic Pass total to 55 mountain resorts in eight countries, significantly more than any other season pass in the world.
